Ancient Bog oak is the oldest wood in the entire world. Before petrification, timber goes through many stages; dying, falling, and drying. Before this ancient bog oak reached the "drying" stage, it was covered with lichen and moss to blot out the sun/elements and suspend its return to the earth.
It laid in a bog for around 6,000 years (it's patina is the darkest I've ever seen) and was discovered in the western Czech Republic after WW2.
All timber is sealed in a vacuum with marine grade epoxy to insure utmost strength and durability of a design. This ring consists of a black Tungsten Carbide band inlaid with an offset black ancient Bog Oak inlay.
The coloration of this ring is intended to be a black Tungsten Carbide core with a dark Ancient Bog Oak inlay. Coloration may vary depending on lighting and each unique piece of wood that is used in the ring.
